Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose powder, referred to as CMC-Na, is an anionic water-soluble polymer obtained by chemical modification of natural cellulose.

 

It is synthesized by the etherification reaction of cellulose and sodium chloroacetate and has the following characteristics:

It is easily soluble in water to form a transparent colloid, and the viscosity of the solution increases with the increase of concentration and degree of substitution.

 

2. Stability
