Sodium butyric acid is the sodium salt form of the short-chain fatty acid Butyric Acid (chemical formula NaC₄H₇O₂). It naturally exists in the products of dietary fiber fermented by animal intestinal microorganisms. It can also be prepared through chemical synthesis or microbial engineering.
