Olive extract tyrosol is derived from the fruit, branches, leaves, or processing by-products of olives. Tyrosol, chemically known as 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenol, is a primary metabolite of olive polyphenols and is present in olive oil, olive leaves, and olive pomace. It is a precursor to hydroxytyrosol and has weaker antioxidant activity.
